The Graduation Party Group met in Chicago as planned. Jake had to detour the eve of our departure to Med Express to get diagnosed with Bronchitis– got fixed up and was good to go. The second leg was a 12 hour flight from Chicago to Tokyo. After a short layover at the Tokyo airport we traveled on 6 more hours to Bangkok.
The “little munchkins” grew up to be good looking incredible adults.

The last flight on Air Japan was lovely with some pretty tasty meals and movies to watch.

We got into Bangkok at 10pm and commissioned a “large” taxi for transport to our hotel–about 40 minutes from BKK. The fee was a very reasonable $20. A hot shower, soft bed and cozy duvet never felt so good.
The next morning after having breakfast at our hotel we set off on our first adventure.
We took a river taxi and ferry to the famous “sleeping” Buddha Temple. Stopping for some fresh coconut water–right from the source. There is a massage school on the temple campus so we all had to get one. (Jack’s first, Jake’s second)

We kept the fun going by taking a tuk-tuk back to our hotel for lunch at a restaurant by the riverside. It was then time for a swim and nap before heading to the famous “backpackers” street for a stroll and dinner.
Saturday morning I left the kids to fly to Phuket, an island 880 kms south of Bangkok in the Gulf of Thailand. I’ll meet my group and take off for a week of sailing on an 82 foot catamaran . Sunday afternoon the kids will meet their group and spend a week going north 709 kms to Chiang Mai. We will all meet up next Sunday when they fly to join me in “the islands” for a week of “fun in the sun”.
