Our last night in Siem Reap we had dinner and an Apsara Dance show. How they can bend their hands, legs and bodies is truly amazing. When the show was over we were invited up on the stage to pose with the stars……..

Luang Prabang is the spiritual capital of Laos. Our last morning we woke up at 5am so we could take alms to the monks. They walk about the town every morning and collect donations in their bowels. We gave them sticky rice but they accept food stuff (as long as it is cooked) and monetary donations:

We visited a paper making operation and silk producing and weaving shop. The worms eat mulberry leaves picked from a tree in the back of the shop:

Our last evening we walked 300 steps to a temple on a hill in town to see the sunset and we were rewarded with a rainbow:
Dinner was a delicious sampling of local local Lao food:
Our visit was topped off with a trip to the morning food market. There were many blocks of stalls with all kinds of delicacies–fish, eels, frogs, snakes, ant eggs, grubs, chickens (alive and dead), vegetables and anything you could need or want. Marigolds are sold as arrangements for you to purchase an take as an offering to the temples:

Stay tuned for Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam which has about 7 million citizens (less than Ho Chi Minh City). Total population in this country is 96 million.
What a wonderful trip. Really enjoy your blog and the great pictures. Have been following and always anxious for next stop! Safe travels
