My Last Lovely Day in Copenhagen

I started the day with a visit to Rosenborg Castle.  I liked the silver lions guarding the thrones and the crowns.  There was a picture of a little friend of one of the crown prince and the king’s “erotica room”—didn’t show us what was in that room:

I walked about the city and the harbor and stopped for lunch in a little bar/ restaurant.  They had an amazing amount of live pots of herbs to use for the food—- more than the wine, the pots were everywhere:

I had the famous Danish Smorrebrod/open face sandwich and a herring starter:

The herring is curled up hiding under the onion.  The sandwich is ground liver with bacon and six other ingredients.  You can’t see the beets and the yummy dark danish bread.  This was soooo delicious– I had to command myself to relax and pace myself.

After lunch, I walked thru the city and enjoyed the sights.  I had to go back to Tivoli Gardens when it was dark.  It is just pure magic (did I tell  you there were 20,000 pumpkins in the park):

I leave Copenhagen with some picture memories:

One final thing– the founder of Lego’s is the richest person in Denmark.  This is a rendition of a Royal Guard:
