What a surprise to wake up in a lovely bay with mountains on both sides of the ship. I mean BIG mountains. The geography makes this a magical place. We got off the boat and took the local bus for a ride to some other towns along the bay:
They built the big dock for cruise ships and want to grow tourist business. Shouldn’t be a problem with the outstanding scenery. There is a little church built into the hill. It is 1365 steps to get to it. I passed on that trek:
Another little church along our route suffered damage from a large earthquake in 1979. The angel on top fell off and miraculously landed in one piece. The angel was put back up and continues to keep the church safe:
I liked the mussel/fish farms along the shores. The tree in the foreground is a pomegranate tree:
