Correction: several blogs ago I misstated that the giant Cologne Cathedral was in Munich—– it is not ( you probably figured that out).
Now on to Prague. I did OK figuring out how to get to my place. The problem I have after I find the right subway/tram is going the right direction–I realize that pretty quickly. The apartment I have is in one of those beautiful “Paris” like apartment buildings. I am on the 4th floor but have a nice little lift. The rooms are 16 feet high:
Saturday I found a farmer’s market in my neighborhood. I bought goat cheese, an apple for my next train ride, spinach quiche and a slice of poppyseed cake.
I found the grocery store across the street. Sounds like that wouldn’t be too hard but they hid it two stories below ground in this building:
I had a walking tour scheduled for 12 so I figured out my way to the city center. Passed a festival along the way where you could buy ham cut off the bone and halušky:

The Astronomical Clock is very cool.
They like Andy–this is right on the main square:
Prague is very pretty. The city center is mostly pedestrian with small cobblestone streets. Some interesting structures:

Sunday means church (stopped for coffee and pastry—- I loved the little glass of water–cost $2.93):
I went to Saint Ludmila’s. It was big inside but did not have that many pews. The most amazing thing was that absolutely no space was not covered by a design. It was painted on the walls, columns, and ceilings but looks like someone went “manic” in a wallpaper store. It was beautiful:

After four weeks I am beginning to see people I know in the people I see here, for example, Dave O ( a personal friend) read the scriptures and a short Mike Ditka was the priest. I learned that 85% of the population of Prague is an atheist. On the last census, 15% of the answers to the”what is your religion” question was answered “Jedi”—you have to love those Czech’s.
I am headed out to Prague Castle and a riverboat ride tomorrow.
I’m amazed at how good you with getting around. Enjoy your journey.
