My Last Day in Strasbourg

I came here because I had heard it is a pretty city—–it is not pretty—- it is a beautiful city!!! I walked thru the shopping district and around the center this morning before I went back to the “petite French” area for more pork and sauerkraut.  Today’s was even more delicious than yesterdays.

Here are some pictures from around town:

Another view of the Cathedral:

I took a really informative boat ride this afternoon.  On my way back home I stopped by the Cathedral Square to have a glass of Alasac riesling wine at the oldest building in Strasbourg (now a fancy restaurant).  All the cafes and restaurants serve the wine in these cute little glasses with green stems.I had to get a baguette to make my sandwich for my trip tomorrow to Munich (taking 4 different trains– no direct way to get in or out of Strasbourg).  The bake shop is on my street:

I do have to report that I was getting a little smug about how things work over here–after all, I’ve been traveling three weeks.  Well, this lovely little apartment has a great bathroom and body forming tub so every day I come home and get in that tub.  It only took me three days to figure out how to get the water hotter…….

I think Strasbourg is my favorite city.
