When you walk out of the train station you are directly in front of an incredible church–it is right there–really amazing.
I always wanted to take a boat ride on the Rhine so I did….this is the first time I’ve seen this river. (Looks a little like the burg)
This shot of the church is from the boat about a mile away.
Some shots of Cologne and my bratwurst for lunch on Thursday:

I slipped between the raindrops, took an interesting bus tour through Cologne (during rush hour), went grocery shopping and ended my day in my studio apartment just four blocks from the Cathedral. Here is my little kitchen:
My second day I spent time inside the Cathedral. There was a prayer service with a visiting choir. It took 600 years to build (they did take about 300 years off in the middle). The main reason for the church is to house the relics of the Three Kings. The relics are in the gold tabernacle behind the altar.
There are 250 churches in Munich which all seem tiny. They had a photo exhibit showing Munich in 1947. Here is the bridge over the Rhine leading to the Cathedral. Unbelievable the church was still standing.
I have traded French fries for sausage– this was Friday’s lunch( tasty and the potato salad had chopped pickles):
I am cooking some tomato basil pasta tonight. My host has a basil plant on the window sill.
I am taking three trains and I’m off to Strasbourg in the morning.
It looks wonderful and yummy. Wonder how many miles you are walking on this journey 🚶🏻♀️🚶🏻♀️
It’s good to be Barbara ❤️
