Another cloudy/sunny/rainy/drippy day in Edinburgh

I guess that’s a good way to put it.  Only a few moments of what you (us) call rain.  Mostly “drips”.  People would pull there hoods up (or not).  A few would open umbrellas and a good majority would just “keep on walking”.  to prove my point–the bicycle crowd doesn’t cover there seats with plastic bags—only there chains.

I started my day (after a Scottish cinnamon danish my host made) to the public bus to see Britannia (the last royal yacht).  The trip was interesting because I got to see the suburbs of center Edinburgh.  The yacht (looked like a ship to me— had other boats on it) was pretty impressive.  Decommissioned in 1997, Scotland won the contest to have it and the royal sailboat docked here in Edinburgh permanently. As you might have guessed these pictures are from photos on the yacht/ship.

After that I took the bus (feelin pretty good–wait till I get somewhere they don’t speak English) to the closest stop to the Scottish Natioal Gallery.  The have a Caravaggio exhibit and the painting that I wanted to see in Dublin is on loan to here ( that fairy dust is working).Took a selfie (a different profile here) with the gardens and Sir Waltler Scott in the background.oO

of course I had to have lunch (yummy) smoked salmon pate with potatoe leek soup and two salads and little oatmeal crackers.  Met a lady a lunch who though Caravaggio was too reglious (really???).  Here is SWS from another’s angle

I then went on to the castle…….WOW…..I don’t know what to say……these are real pics….

I think Edinburg is my fravite city……I have to come back….there is a stature of William Pitt’s son and I didn’t get to see it.  I’m off to Amsterdam.  I don’t think I showed you my planning map:
