A full day in Edinburgh

This is such a “walkable” city.  I did the Sandeman walking tour—they are great.  I got the inside scoop on the history of this city and Scotland.  Good information: the Scotland plant is the Thistle and the animal is the Unicorn (the only country in the world with a fairy tale animal).Probably from all that scotch whisky (no e)

Wait till you hear about my lunch….Haggis with Neeps & Tatties with a side of Blood Pudding and Mash.  I had to have a half pint of Scottish beer to wash it all down. The Haggis tastes like meatloaf (a little mushy) —pretty tasty.  The mashed potatoes and mashed turnips were also tasty.  The blood pudding taste like sausage— not bad at all–pretty good.

After lunch I went to the Scotch Whisky Experience—I took this selfie before I drank any scotch whisky.  The tour was fun and informative.  You get to ride around in a barrel and pick the flavor of single malt that you want to sample. The rest of the day I walked the lower part of the Royal Mile to the Scottish Parliament:and the palace where the Queen sleeps when she visits (Palace of the Holyroadhouse):That’s it for today (I was going to show you the blueberry muffin that my host made for me but I ate it before I could take a pic).
